Huyen Tue Dao
Huyen Tue Dao is a mobile developer, technical speaker, and content creator. She has been working in Android development for over 10 years and has been an avid speaker at many an Android and Kotlin conference, with a strong penchant for putting nerdy references in her talks. For all this running about and talking about Android and Kotlin, Huyen was accepted as a Google Developer Expert for Android in 2016 and a Google Developer Expert for Kotlin in 2017.
Huyen currently works as a Lead Android Developer at Adobe. Before that, she worked on the Trello app for almost 7 years. A bit before that, she graduated with a B.S. in Computer Engineering and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park.
In 2015 she co-created a YouTube channel called "Android Dialogs" that centered around conversations with people in the Android community. In producing this channel, Huyen has traveled all over the world (often accompanied by her husband, Joshua, a fellow Android developer and her unpaid intern/production assistant), attending conferences and meetups and filming interviews with the diverse and brilliant people who work in Android, whom she often refers to as the "Android fam", and Kotlin.
Sharing her knowledge, experiences, many mistakes, and many joys of engineering and sharing the stories and accomplishments of others in the community are Huyen's two biggest passions, especially done through the mediums of speech and video. She is a longtime consumer of podcasts, starting with CNET's Buzz Out Loud in her college days. It was while listening to Buzz Out Loud that Huyen became a fan of both podcasting and Jason Howell, her co-host on All About Android. Huyen believes this is what the kids these days call "manifesting."
Huyen is also a complete YouTube obsessive across many of its countless genres, formats, and styles, but especially for in-depth video essays.
