In-App Transcripts Now Available to Club TWiT Subscribers

If you've been watching TWiT for the last few weeks, you've noticed that Leo's been away. While he's out, we've added a new Club TWiT feature that he doesn't know about yet so we can surprise him when he's back next week. We've added in-app transcripts to Club TWiT episodes in apps that support this feature. Transcripts have been quietly rolling out to Club TWiT members on new episodes for the past two weeks, so if you're using a supporting app, you may have already spotted them.

Back in May, we added support for chapter markers to our Club TWiT feeds so that subscribers can quickly find various parts of any episode. Now, with transcripts, you can follow along with the hosts.

Transcripts are not yet available in every podcast app, but we've put together a compatibility chart so you can see which popular podcast apps do or do not support chapters or transcripts. If your preferred podcast app doesn't support transcripts in private feeds (we're looking at you, Apple), we encourage you to reach out to the app developers and request this feature. The more requests they get, the more likely they are to add support for in-app transcripts.

Transcripts are AI-generated, so you might notice an occasional wrong word. That lets us publish them quickly instead of transcribing every episode by hand. We're tech enthusiasts, not stenographers!

If you’re not yet a Club TWiT member, you can join Club TWiT for $10/month or $120/year and get transcripts and chapter markers in addition to Club TWiT’s other features including ad-free episodes, bonus content, and access to our members-only Discord server. Members can also earn credit toward their membership by recruiting new subscribers through the Club TWiT Referral Program.

Leo's coming back next week to find a brand-new feature he never signed off on. We're calling it a welcome back gift. Join Club TWiT, check out the transcripts, and be the first to tell him what he missed.
