Pick: Google Translate

Lauren Hockenson has a tip for using Google Translate while traveling. If you come across a sign you can't read, just launch Google Translate and aim your phone at the sign and it will show you the sign in your language. You can also use the language translator to ask people questions in their native language. The app is free and it's local to your phone so it doesn't require data or Wi-Fi to work.
