Tip: Help Track Earthquakes From Home
Julian Lozos has a way that you can track earthquakes from your home. The same sensors in your laptop that keep your data safe in the event of a fall are the same kinds of accelerometers that can be used to track ground motion for earthquakes. Caltech, USGS, and Stanford have developed technology to use your computer to help track earthquakes called the "Quake Catcher Network."
Your data can help track the details on what shook how hard in which earthquakes, and just help locate earthquakes. Find out more about the Quake Catcher Network at qcn.stanford.edu.
