Tip: Turn Off Facebook Notifications on Individual Posts

When you see a post on Facebook from a friend about a major life event, you may feel inclined to add a comment to it. After your comment, however, there could be dozens of other posts from other people as well. And by default, Facebook sends you a notification for every comment that comes in after you.

On The New Screen Savers episode 14, Beckey Worley had a way to avoid being inundated by these notifications. After you write your comment, there's a little arrow on that specific post that displays a drop down menu when you click on it. In that menu, there's an option to "turn off notifications." This will turn off only the notifications related to that post, without affecting any of your other notification settings.
