China's slide into a new totalitarianism under president Xi Jinping accelerated today when the Chinese government announced plans to station police officers inside major Internet companies. Each major Chinese Internet company, including Tencent and Alibaba and others, would get a network security office inside the company.
Facebook reversed plans on how it handles mobile user data.
Facebook had planned to change what it does with the user data from people using their mobile apps. But after huge pressure from companies that make games and apps, Facebook changed its tune.
