The New Screen Savers 105
Google I/O 2017
Samsung DeX review, Google I/O, Amazon Echo calling, TWiT at Maker Faire, and more.
Leo Laporte and Jason Howell attended the Google I/O keynote and bring you a wrap-up of the announcements and promises of technology to come. Megan Morrone shows us how to setup and use the Amazon Echo's latest feature, voice calling and messaging. The Samsung DeX turns your Galaxy S8 into a desktop computer. Leo and Jason explain how it works and give you a review. We sent Nathan Olivarez-Giles to the independent safety science company, UL Labs, to check out their 'Living Lab.' It's a smart home where they test out different devices to see how they work in a real-world environment. We have a couple 'Calls for Help.' One on making electronic music and choosing the right digital audio workstation, the other on using Chromebooks in the classroom. In 'Game of Geeks,' Jonathan Abrams, Jason Calacanis, and Peter Rojas battle it out testing their startup jargon savviness.
The New Screen Savers records live every Saturday at 3PM Pacific on twit.tv/live. Episodes are available for download and streaming later that evening at https://twit.tv/shows/new-screen-savers.
