Facebook wants to compete with Apple in the music business and with YouTube in the video business!

Facebook has been talking with major record labels, according to an exclusive on The Verge. The companies include Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group. One possibility is that Facebook could launch a music service to compete with Spotify and Apple Music. Another is that Facebook wants to compete with YouTube, and is talking about getting the rights to host music videos. The Verge sources say these talks are in early stages.
