Vizio has settled a suit filed by the Federal Trade Commission for $2.2 million. The suit alleged that the TV manufacturer tracked what viewers were watching by analyzing pixels on-screen and comparing them to a database of movies and TV shows. Vizio then sold that information to advertisers and others.
