Pacemaker Data Rats Out Arsonist

An Ohio man has been convicted of arson and insurance fraud after prosecutors used data collected by his pacemaker to determine that his version of events could not have happened. 59-year-old homeowner Ross Compton reported that during the fire, he had escaped through a window with several large possessions. A cardiologist who reviewed the pacemaker data testified that the data did not support Compton's statement. Compton's cat died in the fire.
